2022 is about to end, and in a few days, 2023 will be here. While the effects of the pandemic are still here, there is no doubt that 2022 was an incredible year for tech devices. As close personal interaction and mobility were curtailed, the pandemic made it possible to develop and introduce tech devices for personal, commercial, and industrial use. It also changed how people interact with devices.

Many people are waiting for what new gadgets, devices, and tech will be launched or rumored to come out in 2023. Several new trends have emerged in 2022, and some tech players are coming out with more devices, from phones to portable gaming, TVs, and headphones. With the leaks and rumors circulating, people are excited to see which ones will be released first.

Dyson Zone

Dyson Zone is a mash-up of air-purifying mask and noise-canceling headphone. The headphone supports Bluetooth 5.9 and has a 3.5mm audio jack and USB-C port. According to the company, it can operate for 50 hours of battery life for audio but will only operate for four hours if combined with its air purification function. The air purification system is detachable and connects to the headset magnetically. The Dyson Zone headset has 11 microphones. Eight of the mics are for advanced noise canceling. Two are beamforming to suppress the noise when using the air filtration system, and the last microphone is for voice audio calls. Dyson said it takes three hours to charge its 2,600mAh lithium-ion battery fully.

Dyson Zone’s initial sale will be in China in January 2023 and will have a March release for the US, UK, Singapore, and Hong Kong SAR. It will sell for $949.

Apple HomePod 2

Apple discontinued production of the full-sized HomePod when it released the HomePod mini. However, rumors exist that the company will revive the full-sized voice-controlled smart speaker. According to speculations from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple might release the second-generation speaker in early 2023 or around March-April. There is still no confirmation from Apple, but speculations are high as the demand for the first-generation HomePod is increasing.

PlayStation VR 2

Sony confirmed that PSVR 2 will be out on February 22, 2023. According to Sony, customers can easily secure a headset, as two million units will be available during its launch, with a price of $549.99. Unfortunately, consumers will need to purchase a PS5 and a PS VR2 to enjoy the immersive gameplay experience fully.

It features a much-improved position tracking that does not need an external camera, but it will still need to use a console. But the GPU and CPU in the PS5 will give better performance. Also, PS5 hardware is paired with a MediaTek SoC chip in the headset display. Likewise, the PS VR2’s controllers will each have a MediaTek SoC.

It features a triple-lens strip with a flash and microphone, and the SIM tray is at the bottom edge of the outer screen, directly opposite the USB-C port when the phone is folded. It is not definite yet, but rumors say the Pixel Fold’s power will be from Google’s Tensor G2 chip processor, 12GB of RAM, and Android 13.
