Oppo has a new range of flagship devices. A few days ago, Oppo launched its Oppo Find X5, X5 Pro, and X5 Lite. Mobile tech experts and consumers expected Oppo to launch its new flagship series at the Mobile World Congress (WMC), which starts on Monday, February 28. However, the company announced the Oppo Find X5 series on February 24, days before the MWC. The new Oppo series launched in Europe, the UK, and Asia. But there will be no official launch in the U.S.

Oppo Find X5 comes after Oppo Find X3. But what happened to Find X4? As usual, you could it down to superstition, since China does not use the number 4. However, some people consider the Oppo Find N as the continuation of the series.

Advanced features

The company claims that the Oppo X5 Pro has the most advanced camera system. Two 50 MP IMX766 flagship sensors from Sony and MariSilicon X power the new flagship phones. MariSilicon X is the company’s imaging NPU. It allows the phone to capture a clear 4K ultra video in the evening.

The latest Oppo smartphone includes a true billion-color 120Hz display, ColorOs 12.1 OS, Hasselblad Natural Color Calibration system, multicore Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 80W SUPERVOOC Flash Charging, and a flagship SoC platform for superior 5G performance. Another new feature is the Multi-Screen Connect, which Oppo says will make working between the phone and Windows PC easier. Many believe that the Oppo Find X5 series will give iPhone and S22 Ultra some stiff competition.

Find X5 Pro

The Find X5 model is the high-end phone from the new series. It has a 6.7″ ultra-clear curved AMOLED screen that uses Gorilla Glass Victus. The screen’s resolution is WQHD+. Storage is 256GB, with 12GB RAM. It sports a new battery health engine, allowing 1600 charging cycles for its 5000mAh battery. The phone charges from zero to 50 percent in just 12 minutes with its 80W SUPERVOOC flash charging technology. Its 50W AIRVOOC can fully juice up the phone in less than 50 minutes for wireless charging. There are only two colors available for the X5 Pro series—glaze black and ceramic white, even if both covers are made from ceramic.

This model ships with Android 12 and supports Android n13, n18, and n25.

Find X5

The Find X5 has a very classy exterior, matching the hardware inside. It has a fingerprint-resistant chassis and a frosted matte glass finish. The Find X5 is powered by MariSilicon X and sports a dual 50MP Sony IMX766 camera system like the Pro model. It is slightly smaller at 6.5″, but it still has a 120Hz billion-color display. The regular charging system supports 80W SUPERVOOC, while the wireless charging is 30W AIRVOOC, slightly lower than the Pro model. The body color comes in white and black only.

Find X5 Lite

The Find X5 Lite model has the same specs as Find X3. MediaTek Dimensity 9000 powers the FX 5 Lite. The Lite model comes in Startrails Blue and Starry Black in China.

Camera

Oppo Find X5 Pro has three cameras in the rear. The dual primary camera setup has a 50Mp sensor for the ultrawide and the main lens. The latter’s aperture is f/1.7 with a 5-axis optical image stabilization. The ultrawide camera’s aperture is f/2.2. It uses a freeform lens for distortion reduction.

Oppo FX 5 Pro’s third lens is a 13Mp, f/2.4 telephone lens. It can zoom twice the normal. The front sports an RGBW lens with 32Mp and an f/2.4 selfie camera.

Night video

Another thing that Oppo FX 5 boasts is night video capability. Again, Oppo designed the MariSilicon X, its dedicated imaging NPU. The feature allows the camera to capture nighttime details that are usually uncaptured because of low quality.

MariSilicon X is based on a 6nm process developed for top-tier imaging operation. It has AI computing power runs an algorithm for advanced AI noise reduction created by its research institute. MariSilicon X can detect and reduce noise pixel by pixel or by frame. It allows the preservation of an object or person’s color, skin tone, and other finer details with excellent accuracy.

There are more features to discover about the Oppo X5 series. However, if you are interested, you still have some time to learn more. It will go on sale in the UK on March 24, with pre-orders starting on March 10. The Find X5 Pro and X5 will sell for more than $1,000, while the X5 Lite, which will be available later in the year, will retail for about $560.
