Almost all the new smartphone releases have similar features. Most consumers are already familiar with them, as many of the features are tweaks of the previous versions. What makes them more excited is the quality of the camera and its specs.

Why do smartphone manufacturers make the camera a major selling point? The primary reason is that mobile photography is typically the norm today. If you haven’t been informed yet, text messaging and taking photos are the most used features of smartphones.

Most vital features of a smartphone

From several studies through the years on what features are the most important to smartphone users, from older generations to millennials, their response is constant. What matters to them are battery life, processing, durability, storage, and camera quality. The latter matters the most for millennials. For all age groups, storage space and battery life get the highest scores, but the score leans more towards older consumers, as well as screen size, durability, and processing power.

Even during tech conferences and product launches, smartphone manufacturers allocate more time to discuss their phone’s camera in details. Cameras on phones matter the most today among all users because people use their phones to take pictures and share them. Most smartphone users now use their phones as pocket cameras. Make a note of this: Apple and Huawei are two phone manufacturers that put a similar focus on mobile photography.

Why is this important?

Manufacturers put more emphasis on cameras because this is where they can make a vast difference against the competition. They are competing to come up with unique camera software.

Connectivity and telephony features are already a given. From cheap ones to high-end phones, these features are generally similar. There is a minor difference in processing power among smartphones, and screen resolutions for high-end phones are typically higher.

Therefore, a phone manufacturer’s innovation and creativity will shine when they have a camera of excellent quality. There is still room for improvement in the quality and features of a smartphone camera.

These points bring us to something new and exciting, especially for those people who love to snap pictures wherever they go.

Waiting for the launch of the Huawei P50 series

There are already so many leaks regarding the latest phone from Huawei. What excites consumers the most is its camera (what else), although there are several innovative features included. Upon release, the Huawei P50 will be the company’s flagship product for 2021. The initial release date was on March 2021, but they postponed it. The latest rumor is that it will drop on May 2021 (or June, at the latest).

Leaks and confirmations

It is already confirmed that the Huawei P50 will have three models. Each model will have a curved screen, but the way the screen curves will vary slightly.

According to the leaked renders, the Huawei P50 may have the least curved or more likely a flat-screen. The Huawei P50 Pro will have a ‘’waterfall’’ screen. It is said that it will bend at a right angle. The Huawei P50 Pro Plus will carry a hefty price tag, seeing that it will have a curved screen on every side. All three models will have a single embedded front camera at the center.
