Acer brought out the big guns immediately after CES 2018 officially started this week with 3 fresh new laptops. All three laptops are running Windows 10 and 2 of them are running with an Intel Core i7.

New Look For The Spin 3

Acer has given the Spin 3 a spanking new look with the addition of the 360 degrees hinge. Now the device can be flipped over and be used like a tablet or turn it into a tent if you don’t plan to use its keyboard and trackpad. Not only that but it has also been upgraded to use Intel’s latest 8th generation Intel Core processor, powered by an internal battery promising 12-hours of battery life. It has two speakers that have Acer’s TrueHarmony tech as well as a vivid 14-inch Full HD display with IPS technology. It’s not exactly as good as the two brand new ones but if you’re looking for a portable computer that boasts performance as well as portability, then the new Spin 3 is worth checking out. CNET reports that the laptop is expected to hit the shelves in February and prices will be starting at $599.

The Acer Swift 7

Acer has just released a new laptop called Swift 7 and what’s surprising about this one is that it’s thin. Very thin, in fact, it’s just 9mm thick. But even with the thinness of the device, Swift 7 is powered by an Intel Core i7 (though there’s also a Core i5 version according to Acer’s website), 10 hours of battery life, 512 GB SSD storage and 8 GB of RAM, which is pretty impressive for a work laptop that’s barely a centimeter thick. It also comes equipped with 4G LTE connectivity and a Nano SIM card slot, along with eSim technology. The keyboard is backlit, perfect for working in the dark. The screen is a 14inch Full HD IPS display.

So it’s more like a tablet than a laptop. It has all the usual features except for the internet jack and a CD reader/writer. The USB is 3.1 with Type-C. It looks great and the body is aluminum.

Nitro 5 Gaming Laptop

Let’s clear something up first: you will never get the same performance you’ll get from a desktop gaming rig, equipped with Core i7 and 128GB of RAM with the latest graphics card, on any “gaming” laptop, we have to concede on that fact first. Not even on a Razer Blade with a 4k display. No.

But for lighter gamers out there the new Nitro 5 gaming laptop from Acer might be enough if they aren’t too obsessed with 60 FPS, true 4k resolution display. It has a new AMD Radeon RX560 graphics card and an AMD Ryzen mobile processor. It has only 32 GB of RAM and 512 GB SSD storage. It comes equipped with Acer’s NitroSense utility as well as Acer’s CoolBoost utility to keep track of your CPU and GPU and adjust the fans’ speed when needed.

Now, apart from the laptops Acer also presented the new Chromebook 11. It’s powered up using the latest Celeron processor by Intel and has 4GB RAM and 16GB to 32GB of storage. Pretty neat for a 10-inch, aluminum covered device. It has an internal battery with 10hrs of battery life, an 11.6inch IPS screen with 1366x768px resolution, 2 USB Type-C ports and a mSD card reader.

The Show’s Just Starting

It’s so exciting already to see all the brand new devices coming out of CES. All these cool laptops Acer presented is just the beginning. There are still other big-time electronics manufacturers (like Sony) for the next few days so expect a lot more things to come out during the duration of the event.
